Located not far from Thetford, you can get the Norwich train to Brandon from Cambridge and Stansted Airport train stations. Rayners Lane FC

Rayners Lane 1-6 Farnham Town

Isthmian League South Central Division.

Saturday 7th December 2024 - 3pm.

Tithe Farm Sports & Social Club.

Admission:  £10
Programme available: Yes - £2

You can get the tube to Rayners Lane from Kings Cross on the Metropolitan line to Uxbridge - taking 20/25 minutes and a little bit longer from Liverpool Street. It's then a further 10/15 minute walk from Rayners Lane tube station, to which is right next to the town centre. The ground is hidden behind houses and not the easiest to find in the dark.

Sunday, 1 December 2024

Yaxley FC

Yaxley 1-3 Daventry Town.

United Counties Premier Division South.

Saturday 30th November 2024 - 3pm.

APG Park.

Admission:  £7
Programme available: Yes - £2

Yaxley is just outside of Peterborough. You can get a bus from Peterborough city centre (taking 20 minutes) which drops you in the village - around a 10 minute walk from the ground. It's not ideal though as you'd then have to negotiate a grass verge with no path along boggy fenland next to a main road. It's not the safest, especially if you're walking back in the dark. It can be done, although I'd recommend using a car if you have that option. There is a 'Premier' food store in the village 10 minutes from the ground.

The way back:

Saturday, 23 November 2024

Plymouth Argyle FC

Plymouth Argyle 2-2 Watford.

Sky Bet Championship.

Friday 22nd November 2024 - 8pm.

Home Park.

Admission:  My ticket was £23.
Programme available: Yes - a quality one at £3.50.

Upon leaving Plymouth train station, the ground is around a 25 minute walk and is up hill nearly all the way. Coming back is a lot easier. There's a sport centre next to the ground that sell food and drink for a reasonable price.
