Starting Afresh

I'm going to draw a line over the last 2 months and start afresh. It’s been a forgettable last few months due to a combination of things but that's no ones fault but my own. It's the risk you take when you choose this route as your only form of income. The good thing is the World Snooker Championship starts this weekend and I usually do well on frame betting, so it's a good place to start.

I've not had a bet since late Thursday, but will be starting again tonight with the NBA. The break has done me good, so hopefully things start to go in the right direction from now on. I just need to kick things off, get to the bank size I feel comfortable with and go from there. I'm not silly enough to persevere with something I know I have no chance of profiting from. Despite all this, I am still in debt, so my priority is to pay these off before anything else.

That's it for now. Oh, btw, look at the ticket below. This shows the extent of how quickly things went wrong. I was going to the Aussie Open in January and didn't even end up selling the ticket. I wish I did now, as I could have done with the money.

  1. Hi John,
Don't dwell on the past. What is done is done. You can't change it.
Stop the images of what might have been and focus on the future otherwise you will not recover.

Best of luck on the snooker. No doubt you will be taking money off me in the frame markets.

  2. Hopefully not from yourself, but we'll see. That's the thing about Betfair, you are potentially making another person bankrupt which isn't a good feeling. We'd all prefer to be taking money from bookies, but then again, this would be too difficult if it was bookie vs Punter like it traditionally is.

This is the 3rd month of these sorry posts now. Not good, but we'll see how it goes anyway.

  3. Agree with Andy, stop looking backwards and telling everyone how well you did last year. Considering you laden with lots of debts it certainly doesn't seem like you did that well.

You won't get anywhere with this "I could've been a contender" attitude. Plenty of people have done their balls gambling and plenty have come back but not by looking backwards.

    Good luck with the snooker.

  4. Hi mate,

to be honest your returns don't look that bad. I obviously haven't read the whole blog but you weekly returns are pretty good for someone who doesn't think that they can do this!

The only thing I would point out is that people don't really believe what they see in screenshots anyway!

I have no doubts whatsoever that you achieved these returns because I knoe exactly what can be achieved when you have an edge and some knowledge but a lot of people who haven't experienced these kinds of returns will hopefully find your blog inspiring rather than doubting what you post.

I would suggest a few weeks off as that normally really focuses the mind.

You would come back a lot more focused and with the right mindset you could be dangerous on the exchanges!

Why not also having a look at cutting down on the number of markets that you trade and settling on a few to really master?

Just a thought and good luck however you decide to play this out!

    BFG
