Volandri v Gabashvili

Filippo Volandri is playing Teymuraz Gabashvili in the 1st Round of the St Petersburg Open in Russia. There is something not right about the odds -- they are way too low on Gabashvili who is currently a set down. Gabashvili's starting price was 1.29 and now it's at 1.32, despite him losing the 1st set 6-3. Also, the amount of money involved in this match is not normal for low key ATP tournament. So I am 100% sure that Gabashvili wins this match from a set down, if you know what I am getting at. So blatant!

Update: Volandri has just broken Gabashvili's serve in the second set but Gabashvili's odds are still 1.33. Gabashvili is currently on an injury time-out as well.

Update 15:57pm: Surprise, surprise! Gabashvili comes back from a set and a break down in the second set to win the match 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

What a shame for Tennis....

  1. yep, i noticed it as well. Btw, last week I saw the same happening with Tipsarevic - Zeballos.. Tips was at super high odds while he was winning and there was no indication of any injury. That was actually the 2nd time I saw it happen with Tipsarevic, once against oscar hernandez as well. Incredible. Its a shame. At the time I sent an email to betfair and bwin about that match and got an lousy response. I hope they comunicate these things to the atp.

  2. shockingly bent, and Volandri tried to make excuses by getting treatment on his wrist in the third set. The sheer timing of his double faults was enough to give it away (two immediately after breaking Gabashvili and then the Georgian taking an injury timeout). Pathetic, more about this and last week's rort on my blog

  4. Yo Guys, we got the same shit today at Isner - Llodra -,- Llodra a set up and 5-4 in the 2nd set at 30-15 own serve. Suddenly 1,14 odds for Llodra layed with 100k € T_T and of course he get a break - and another and isner won finally 4-6 7-5 6-3 - this is fucking ridiculous
