A Short Update

-£108

  1. I'm not sure why you keep saying you need a bigger bank. You don't. £92 is more than enough. I know for a fact that you can build up to six figures from £21.40. All you need is an edge. Just be patient and bet only when you have value. Also your betting bank should be money you can afford to lose - not money that you may need to pay 'a few bills'.

  3. Is that over half your bank gone already John? It seems you are loading up on short prices for very small wins?

The losses are many times the amount of the tiny wins.

  4. Business as usual then John?

  5. You can't do this full-time using 200 pounds, Cassini. If I was doing this for fun, had no pressure and a lot of time, then with a bit of luck you can build from 200.

I'm just going to see how it goes.

    I've added your blog.

  6. Btw, it wasn't my most luckiest weekend as well. I think I suffered last minute goals on 3 of those losses you see. I went in a minute before on 2 of them and before I got out, a last minute goal went in.

It was one of those weekends. It always gets you when you're at your worst.

  7. Michel Bastos making it 5-0 to Lyon was the last straw for me. Especially after the same thing happening in the Bologna match a few hours earlier.

The minute I back Real Madrid under 3.5 goals, Benzema makes it 3-1.

Like I say, it was one of those weekends.

  8. "It was one of those weekends. It always gets you when you're at your worst. "

As soon as you start believing things are based on luck, good or bad, you're doomed John. We've all been there had a crap day and the fuck it mentality takes over and we end up doing bets we wouldn't normally do. trouble is at this game you can't afford to take your eye off the ball.

I can understand your frustration though I'd be unable to work with such a small bank and probably do much the same.

  9. You can trade full-time on a bank of any size - you just won't make a very good income for a while. Like I said, your betting bank should be left alone and allowed to build, and you can definitely reach six figures with a small bank - but not if you need the money for other things. Get real!

  10. It is swings and roundabouts, I've had my fair share of good luck, so it all evens itself out in the end.

Yeah, the small bank is a problem, but not much I can do at the minute.

  11. Ignore Cassini, he hasn't a clue about making a living from betting. Trading full time is a different kettle of fish than the cutting and pasting crap that he does on his blog.

I think he posted his pnl on his blog for a while but soon stopped as he wasn't making a bean. Stick to the blogging and your thai bride, cassini, your advice always has and always will be based on your fantasys rather than reality.

  12. A small bank is not the problem - the problem is that you are not finding value, you are not playing with money you can afford to lose, and you are still mentally back in the days when you had a big bank to play with. The first step is to come to terms with where you are today. Baby steps. Accept that your bank is what it is now, and work with it. Find value, be patient, let the bank build slowly. £200 to $250 in a week is a huge gain, but you can;t build something if you keep chipping away at the foundation.

  13. Completely agree with Cassini and Pavel. You can build a large bank from £200 but it's going to take time. Therefore you can only do it if you have another income stream to see you through this period. If you have no other income stream at present, DO NOT TRADE/BET. It's only going to end in tears as you will be constantly pushing the limit to see how much you can earn rather than doing the right thing and trading the value.

As for luck - don't fool yourself. Luck plays it's part but you cannot say 'bad luck' is the reason you lost -£108 from a £200 bank. That's not luck, that's poor money management - most probably because you are trying to push for as much as you can. At the end of the day, if your trades rely on luck you have no edge and you are a gambler. Seek help.

I wish you all the best in the future, there is far more to life than trading sports.

  14. As far as I'm aware John has no secured debts or even assets if he's living at home. None of those debts will be enforceable or worth the hassle or costs involved in declaring himself bankrupt.

I do agree betting isn't really the option for John at the moment especially if he can't operate successfully with a small bank. At the moment all he'll be doing is gambling to get that bank up quick and whilst it might seem a good idea or the only option available it'll just reinforce bad habits if he does manage to get it up quick or frustration if he blows the bank again.

For some a small bank is workable, for John it's not, whether people agree with that or not when you're gambling/trading you need everything in YOUR favour not what others can, or can't, do with that small bank.

All he needs to do now is look at options to get that £1K or whatever's comfortable for him to work with. Messing around with a few hundred and with debts hanging over you is a recipe for disaster, so I'm not surprised this week hasn't gone as planned.

Thanks and good luck with the recovery, I'm sure if you take some advice from the likes of Cassini you'll get back on track. Mark
