Profit & Loss Update

Basically I've been trying to get out of a difficult situation the hard way, by trying to gamble my way to a workable bank size and it's not worked. It's made things a lot worse in fact. Once I get a stable base to work from, I can resume where I was months ago by trading as opposed to gambling and taking big risks, but it's just not happening at the moment. Common-sense says I get a temporary job to raise the funds I need in order to get going again, but like I say, I've tried to do things the difficult way which is definitely not the right thing to do.

I'm 100% certain it will change, but I'm no longer sure when anymore. If I had £500+ to work with now, it would change tomorrow, but unfortunately money does not grow on trees and I need to look at ways of getting the bank I need, especially with zero backing as well.

  1. Gambling your way to a decent bank has never worked for you in the past so why do you continually do it? All it does is lose you money surely you've figured that out by now.Every £113 you lose a week just puts you further and further back.

  2. I just need a stable base to work from.

I'm sure it will change soon anyway.

  3. But why will it change? You've doen the same thing for the last 6 months and got nowhere. Change only happens if you make it happen.

I'm not saying give up cos I've been in similar situations and you need that belief in what you can do to win at this lark. But you also need to realise there's no such thing as luck and chucking money away trying to gamble out of a bad situation is never going to work.

Stick up a paypal link like Mickey said , I'll chip in £200

  4. I've not used the bank I used last year when I made that money. It's no coincidence. I remember Feb 2010 and I was in this position (but less debt) and I was saying the exact same thing on another forum (Money Saving Expert forum) before making it work.

Anyway I make a new start on Monday. Thanks for the offer of 200 pounds, but I have no Paypal. If it was this time last week, I would have taken you up on your offer. It is much appreciated though.

  5. Why dont you ask if everyone who reads your blog donates say 2 quid each.Well worth it imo for any current/old or future gambler/trader to read your tales of woe and self pity.

  6. Mate, if you can't make money from a £100 bank then you wouldn't from a £1000 bank. It has nothing to do with having a small bank.
    You've lost it

  8. Trouble is you're living off past glories, John, by continually harping back to how much you made last year. And to be fair 15K over 4 years really isn't much to be excited about.

You must have started at one time from a small bank, so do it again. If you'd have played things as usual with a smaller bank say in Jan, by now it may well have grown into something worthwhile by now.

This magical £1K isn't going to appear and you just have to learn to work around it the best you can. Even a £1 a market from the amount of markets you play will soon build up. Stop looking to take shortcuts by gambling and try to build slowly. We're almost half way thru the year now you don't want to be saying the same things in 6 months time.

  11. John

As the Sultan says previously you need to use proper money management. You just seem to be consistently chasing your losses which will just cause you to make mistake.

One of the main things i have found to help me is improve my mindset as if you are not worried about making money and are calm and collected then losses wont bother you and you should get back to making profits.

If you can make profits before you can again but this obsession with bank size will not help.Maybe you need to look at different strategies!

  20. I was in the same boat in March when I lost very big in that Ireland victory over England in the World Cup Cricket. Took me 3 months to claw it all back but I did claw it all back bit by bit. Trying not to rush the clawing back of losses quickly is the true test for any gambler/trader.
